DomaVista uses two cookies, both strictly to run the site - neither is used for advertising or tracking, and no consent banner is needed for them:

Your data

If you create an account, we hold your name and email address, plus any searches, followed properties or mailing-list orders you set up, only to run the alerts and features you've asked for.

If you book a viewing, request a valuation or make an offer, we also hold your phone number and the address of the property involved. If a valuation isn't for your own home, we separately ask for your actual home address too - see "Revenue protection" below for why.

If you register as an estate agent, we also hold your firm name, branch and the CRM/property software you use, so we can route requests to the right place.

If you change your phone number or address, we keep a record of the change - including the date, the previous details and the IP address it was made from - for account security.

We don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.

Sharing your data with agents

When you book a viewing, we share your name, email, phone number, home address and any notes you leave with the listing agent straight away, so they can arrange it with you. For a valuation, your name, phone number, email and exact address are never shared with an agent until you choose to accept one of their fee quotes - before that, they only see the property's type, bedrooms and general area.

If a valuation isn't for your own home, your separately-provided home address is never shared with an agent - it's used only for the revenue protection described below.

Revenue protection

Agents who take on a valuation or viewing lead through DomaVista agree that if they're later instructed to sell a property owned by the person who made the request, within 6 months, DomaVista is due a share of their fee. To check this, we automatically compare the address involved - and, for valuations, your separately-provided home address if it's different - against new property listings for 6 months. A potential match is reviewed by our team before anything is followed up.

How long we keep your data

If you've booked a viewing, requested a valuation or made an offer, your account can't be deleted until at least 6 months after the most recent one, so the check above can run its course. The same applies to an agent account that has received a viewing or valuation lead - your account can't be deleted until at least 6 months after the most recent one, for the same reason.

When your account is deleted, we erase your name, email address, login details, saved searches, planning alerts, followed properties, mailing list and your record of contact-detail changes. We do not delete the record of any viewing or valuation you requested, or any offer you made, straight away. We keep these records for two years from the date of the request or, if you made an offer, from the latest change to it, for revenue protection and for fraud and crime prevention, and then delete them. Until then they keep the phone number, address and any notes or comments you gave when you made them, but no longer carry your name, your email address or any way to log in. The invoice and payment records for fees agents pay us do not identify you, and we keep them, along with records of mail orders (which include the name and email address used), for our accounts.

If the 6 month minimum doesn't apply or has elapsed then you can request to delete your account immediately, at any time, by clicking the 'Delete account' button at the bottom of the 'My account' page when you are logged in. See above for what we keep.
